Schwarzenegger is a BIG stuff fan!

So, the news of the day is that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is a fan of oversized stuff, more specifically the giant pocket knife, as seen in a video posted on YouTube today...

"In the video, he sits at his desk in the state Capitol admiring a 2-foot-long folding knife before addressing viewers and saying he likes one follower's suggestion to autograph a fleet of state-owned vehicles being put up for auction on Craigslist and eBay...
The governor's spokesman, Aaron McLear, said the knife was a gift from a friend and arrived Tuesday, and that the governor is serious about signing the auctioned vehicles."

YouTubers! (who use our stuff)

So I was digging through some old YouTube stuff, and I discovered some gems we had forgotten about! Awhile back we got into contact with some YouTubers and sent them some products to use in their videos. Two of our absolute FAVORITES were Supermac18 and Rekidk. Both used big stuff in some creative ways!

Look for the giant scissors!

Giant clapboard anyone?

And now, a shameless self-promotion.

If you're on YouTube and want to use big stuff in your videos, let us know! Maybe we can work something out...

Oprah Loves Us

Well, O Magazine loves us, and that's Oprah's magazine, so duh, Oprah loves us. Check out this custom tape measure we made for a spread on summer dresses.

Tech specs anyone? This tape measure only features metric units and is done in black and white (incase you can't see the picture). Our standard tape measure is yellow and features both metric and American units (inches!), that's how you know it's good.

New videos (GBS on the television)

Howdy y'all.

In the past couple days we've pulled a couple television shows of the ol' Tivo for your viewing pleasure. Why you ask? Because these videos feature BIG STUFF. As in, big stuff from us, GreatBigStuff. The three most recent uploads we've done are "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Maury," and "Today."

The "Maury" video is pretty cool, probably my favorite, solely because it's the "Man or Woman?" episode. Basically all the people on the show "look" like girls, but are they? I'll let you decide. Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb dug the giant hamburger and apple in the "Today" show video too. You know it's good if it's got the Kathy/Hoda seal of approval.

While you're here, do yourself a favor and check out my latest (read "first") Lego adventure:

That's all for now kiddies! (That was directed at the children in my Lego chair video.)

Featured on Urlesque (TWICE!)

So for the second time this year we've been featured on the blog Urlesque! The first time was back in February and they wrote about a bunch of products and included some pictures from our website. You know, some nifty stuff. Anyways, after taking the reigns of the GreatBigStuff Twitter and such, I did a little digging and found the aforementioned Urlesque post. Being the nice guys we are, we decided to send them a (very) late thank-you gift, a great big pencil! The folks up in NYC took some pictures, and they look great!
This past weekend we took a BUNCH of pictures for the website, with more to be taken soon. Here's just a little sneak from between scenes...

Look out for some new videos in the coming day or two!

The First Post

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the new GreatBigStuff blog. This is where we’ll keep you updated on new products, special deals, and everything BIG! Right now we’re in the midst of introducing some new products to our website. Perhaps you’ve seen a few of our newer items? First up is the new “To Go Cup” coffee cup, styled after the iconic New York City Greek coffee cup. It’s nearly a foot tall and is perfect as a wastebasket, container, or decoration. Check it out here.

Remember back in high school when your unbearably heavy backpack was overflowing with textbooks, papers and supplies? Well, now you can relive those days, but in a good way. Another one of our newest products is the “Giant Backpack.” These three zippered pocket bags hold loads of stuff! At almost 40 inches tall these backpacks are big enough for you to haul your little kids around in (although we strongly recommend against doing that). Check out the giant backpack here.

Lookin' good.

Stay tuned for more product updates and BIG news, but in the meantime follow us on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook.
